1. Core Production Principle
Printed Gold (Metallic Gold Ink Printing)
Mixes gold pigment, metallic powder with regular printing ink, printed onto paper/bag surface via offset, screen or digital printing. It’s just coloured ink with metal particles.
Gold Foiled / Hot Stamping Foil
A thin metallic foil film is transferred onto material under high heat + pressure using a metal die. The foil’s gold metallic layer sticks to the surface; the carrier film peels away. It is a physical transfer of real metallic foil, not ink.
2. Visual & Shine Effect
Printed Gold
Dull, weak metallic sheen; light reflection is flat and diffused.
Looks like pale yellow-gold, easily fades or turns brassy.
Fine small details are possible, but large solid areas look patchy/streaky.
Colour depth is limited; cannot create mirror-like shine.
3. Hot Stamping Gold Foil
Strong mirror-like metallic gloss, bright reflective real metal finish.
Rich, vivid gold tone with obvious light highlights and shadows.
Solid gold blocks are smooth and uniform; luxury high-shine texture.
Multiple foil options: bright gold, matt gold, rose gold, brushed gold.
4. Touch & Texture
Printed Gold
Surface stays flat, same texture as original paper/lamination; no raised feel. The gold layer is thin ink coating on top.
Gold Foiled
Slightly raised embossed feel on thick paper/card. You can feel a thin raised metallic edge when touching the pattern.
5. Detail Performance
Printed Gold
Good for tiny texts, gradient gold effects, blended colour artwork. Can print gradual shade changes.
Gold Foiled
Clean sharp lines for logos, borders, large text; cannot print gradients. Very thin lines (below 0.1mm) may break easily during stamping.
